│ This is a VENDINFO Product Information Record │
│ │
│ This record is a means of conveying information about a software │
│ product from the author to distributors and users. It contains a │
│ normal, "human-readable" section (you're reading it now), followed │
│ by a compressed data record. The data record contains a great │
│ deal of information in a form useable by automated tools. This │
│ allows BBSes, disk vendors, etc. to test automatically for │
│ permission to distribute, and to automatically extract product │
│ information for use in BBS files databases, vendor catalogs, etc. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO file standard is published and is freely useable. │
│ │
│ The VENDINFO toolset includes a free end-user viewer, processing │
│ tools for use by distributors (BBSes, shareware disk vendors, │
│ etc.), and the editor used by author/publishers to produce these │
│ records. These tools are either free or very-low cost shareware. │
│ The toolset can be obtained from many sources, including the │
│ originators of VENDINFO: │

===== Information for Users ("READ-ME") ================
This package contains PC Clock Version 1.3 by MacGregor K. Phillips.
This document contains only a brief description of the package and its
features, along with instructions for its installation. Quite detailed
documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived form,
and is more easily read after installation.
If you've ever wished you could use your computer as a precision
chronograph (timer) then PC Clock is the program for you. Once you
calibrate your computer for three levels of precision you can use the
Up, Down, Race, Lap, Game, and Split Timers to time anything from your
eggs in the morning, the Indy 500, or a scientific experiment to an
accuracy of millionths of a second.
PC Clock is a shareware program. This version is complete and includes
all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way. You may use
it for up to 30 days, without charge (see CLOCK.DOC for more details).
If you like the program, and wish to continue its use after this
evaluation period, you are required to pay for the program (see
REGISTER.DOC for more details). Any fee you may have paid to others
(disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this program was a fee for their
copying and distribution services, rather than a payment for continued
use of the program.

===== Installation =====================================
The installation procedure for PC Clock is very simple. You will need at
least 380K of free disk space to store all of the programs and
documentation files.
If you have a 80286 computer the executable file is called CLK16.EXE.
If you have a 80386 or 80486 computer the executable file is called
CLK32.EXE. Both versions are supplied with the PC Clock package.
PC Clock does not run on the 8086, 8088, 80186 or 80188 CPUs.
PC Clock may be executed from either a floppy or hard disk drive. To
minimize loading time it is recommended that PC Clock be run from a hard
disk drive. You will also be able to create larger data files on a hard
disk drive. PC Clock CANNOT be executed from a CD-ROM disk because it
has to be able to create files in the directory in which the EXE file is
located. CD-ROM is a read-only media and you cannot create files on it.
INSTALLING PC CLOCK ON A FLOPPY DISK
If you received the PC Clock package on a floppy disk and plan on only
executing PC Clock from a floppy disk no further installation is
required unless you have not unarchived the programs and documentation
files.
If you downloaded PC Clock to your hard disk or received PC Clock on a
CD-ROM disk and wish to execute PC Clock from a floppy disk you must
copy the program and documentation files to a floppy disk. You may use
the DOS Copy Command to transfer the files. Depending on the drive and
directory the files are in the command may be "COPY C:\TEMP\*.* A:\".
This means copy all of the files from the TEMP directory on Drive C: to
the root directory on Drive A:.
INSTALLING PC CLOCK ON A HARD DISK
If you received PC Clock on a floppy disk or CD-ROM disk and wish to
install it on your hard disk you first need to create a directory to
hold the PC Clock files. I suggest using the name "CLOCK", but the
actual choice is up to you. Use the DOS Command "MD CLOCK" to create the
CLOCK directory on your hard disk. If the files are in the root
directory of the A: Drive use the following DOS Copy Command to transfer
the files to the CLOCK directory on your C: hard disk drive:
"COPY A:\*.* C:\CLOCK".
EXECUTING PC CLOCK
If you desire to execute PC Clock from any directory, the directory name
that PC Clock resides in must be placed in the "PATH=" environment
variable. Check your DOS manual for more details. If the Directory is
not in the "PATH=" environment variable you will first have to log on to
the required directory with the following DOS Command: "CD CLOCK"
assuming that "CLOCK" is the directory name you have the EXE file in.
Then at the DOS prompt type in CLK32 or CLK16 and press the Enter Key.
PC Clock will load and be ready to run. For detailed instructions on
using PC Clock please read the CLOCK.DOC file which contains all the
required instructions.
